A hypnotic journey, this EP aptly titled ‘Closer’ by Chopstick & Johnjon, transcends your mind closer to the stars while keeping your feet tapping trancily on the earth (for the lack of a more apt word) to its very very organically groovy vibe All thumbs and big toes up for this! We can’t seem to get enough It has been produced by Berlin based label Suol, who have an impressive repertoire.
With New York city’s Ryan Cavanagh aka Slow Hands providing the vocals, the track ‘Catamount’ is a great example of how these two seemingly effortlessly manage to incorporate classy song-writing into a club track
Chopstick & Johnjon always like to show another side of their sound with the last track on their EPs. And this time it is a little gem called ‘Track Of Time’ featuring Larissa Kapp, whose lush vocals on sit beautifully on what is almost a ballad – a ballad with a huge 80s that is.
As just the above mentioned tracks are available for soundcloud streaming, those are the ones that we are posting here, so enjoy and buy the EP for more elation
A brilliant revamp of one of their older tracks ‘All the same’ by Slow Hands. This is so beautiful, it is beyond words. A wonderful write up about this by the artiste himself can be found at: https://soundcloud.com/slowhands/all-the-same-slow-hands-folk-wash-1.
As for the song, here it is:

Slow Hands is back with as many as 7 new tracks today! Feel like I’ve won the superlotto! I like a lot of music but amongst the digital slo-mo genre I rate Slow Hands as a cut above the rest, like I rate Pink Floyd compared to music as a whole. This time the track that has caught my attention the most or almost is the remix of Parts of You and I by Cameo Culture. Cameo Culture is an accomplished musician in his own right, an Australian Native who now lives in Brooklyn and creates electronic sexiness from time to time. So here it is:
And that’s not all that rocks about the 7 tracks posted today, visit the soundcloud page for many more gems like :
PS: Best enjoyed on stuff that delivers high quality audio like the earphones featured above. Yeah, Dr Dre is paying me too ;).
This is just the best song to have come out in quite a while! Slow Hands has come up with this super cover of the song Towers by Bon Iver. Truth be told this more of a redux than a simple ‘Cover’, like Slow Hands aka Josh puts it modestly in the song title and something I have curiously missed including in the title of this blogpost. So have a listen, download it for free while its available , and feel the summer vibe coming on!
One of the main proponents of the current slow-mo and sultry house revolution, Slow Hands aka Ryan Cavanagh is an organic specialist. His rich yet languid style bares all the hallmarks of the classical and compositional training he has had, whilst everything from jazz to blues to trippy electronica inform the New Yorker’s well honed production palette. Highly recommended amongst his other works would be ‘Rough Patch’ and ‘Kreuzberg Blues’ from 2011.
I came across another great track by him today done four months ago, This is the Slow Hands edit for the Richie Havens Classic: Going Back to My Roots:
For more aural pleasures listen to the old maestro himself having a go at it himself :
